Boone, NC Visit
MARCH.
Our oldest is preparing for her Junior year at App State University this Fall. Not sure where the time has gone already! We went up for a planned weekend to visit her this past March, the same weekend everything started to shut down. We wanted to see her and make our Covid-19 plans. We stayed at a remote, absolutely gorgeous AirBNB for a couple nights and escaped briefly from all the depressing news as the world slowly began to shut down around us.
We still made the best of it, and appreciated our hosts letting us stay for the weekend and we took in all the nature sounds and beauty of this gorgeous and well cared for A-frame just outside of downtown Boone.
We grabbed takeaway at some local favorites to drink and eat. We enjoyed reading and sitting by the duck pond in front as the frogs sang in a loud chorus in the evening stillness. I look forward to a return visit when the world comes back out of quarantine.
