Montreal &
Quebec City
The Need for Speed.
During our COVID days, like many others we binged watched a lot of shows. One quickly became a favorite: F1: Drive to Survive. I’m not even a car or race car person, but following along getting the back story on these top notch drivers and the fierce competition and danger was addicting. We soon found out some friends were watching too and before you know it we had booked our trip to Montreal for the annual F1 race held there in June. We decided to make a trip of it, adding a few days in Historic Quebec City after the races. It’s a lot of fun to book trips around an event or a concert or festival. We’ve done a lot of that!

Stay
We stayed at Delta Hotels by Marriott Montreal, located in downtown Montreal so it was easy to walk to restaurants, bars, do some sightseeing and easily access the train to the F1 track.
"TO DO SOMETHING WELL IS SO WORTHWHILE THAT TO DIE TRYING TO DO IT BETTER CANNOT BE FOOLHARDY. IT WOULD BE A WASTE OF LIFE TO DO NOTHING WITH ONE'S ABILITY, FOR I FEEL THAT LIFE IS MEASURED IN ACHIEVEMENT, NOT IN YEARS ALONE."

A Step back in time.
Québec City—a charming blend of history, culture, and European flair! A UNESCO World Heritage treasure! If you are looking for a place to visit that you can get to easily from the US east coast and can give you all the European vibes, this is the place! The city is stunning and easy to walk around and enjoy historical buildings, pop into pubs, excellent dining and beautiful parks. Old Québec is the only fortified city north of Mexico. You can easily walk through Haute-Ville (Upper Town) with its quaint buildings and narrow lanes, and then descend to Basse-Ville (Lower Town) for more picturesque views.
We did a short excursion out of the city to visit some vineyards nearby and the Montmorency Falls is a truly spectacular site. At 272 ft., it’s nearly 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. You can ride a cable car to the top and walk back down to the visitor center. You can get some great photo ops from the bridge over the falls. There are several other falls in the area, we only visited this one.
“Quebec City is the most European of any city in North America, they speak French all the time. There is a part of town called Old Quebec which is really like being in France. The architecture is just gorgeous, food, shopping. I'd say Quebec city is the most beautiful city in North America I've seen.”

We enjoyed a trip close by to the vineyards, Vignoble Isle de Bacchus, a really nice place to sit and relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the countryside.
